NEW YORK PUBLIC LIBRARY FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS Wednesday through May 22, “The Jazz Loft Project,” a display of more than 200 photographs of the jazz world by W. Eugene Smith, including noted musicians. SOUTH STREET SEAPORT MUSEUM Through the summer, “Treasures of a President: F. D. R. and the Sea,” an exhibition based on Roosevelt’s love of sailing and collecting, with prints, drawings, letters and ship models. Opening on Thursday and running through January 2011, “DecoDence: Legendary Interiors and Illustrious Travelers Aboard the SS Normandie,” an exhibition devoted to that luxury ocean liner, with photographs, posters and Art Deco items from the ship, including tea sets and textiles.
