If you ride the C or D link, your commute might get messy this month.

Get ready for a messy commute this week on the C and D lines.

A major change - abruptly announced Monday - will affect service on the lines through large swaths of Manhattan to make way for a signal and track improvement project.

The project was originally scheduled to begin Feb. 8 but was postponed because of last week's snow storm, NYC Transit said.

The work, which begins Tuesday at 5 a.m. and will continue through Saturday, was rescheduled just over the weekend in an attempt to make up lost time and control costs, the agency said.

"We apologize for the late announcement," the agency said.
These are the changes:

* Uptown C trains will go express between Canal and 145th streets.

* Uptown D trains will go local between 59th and 145th streets.

* Only uptown E trains will stop at Spring, 23th and 50th streets.

* Uptown B and D trains will stop at 72nd through 116 streets, and 135 St.

* At 34th St., uptown C train stops at the A train platform.
