HARLEM EVENTS

DWYER CULTURAL CENTER Opening on Wednesday and running through Sept. 3, two exhibitions in celebration of Black History Month: “Harlem Is ... Theater,” a historical look at the development of black theater, with photographs, audio montages and films. “Weusi Revisited: 2010” includes 50 pieces by members of the Weusi Collective, a group of noted Harlem artists, along with a video presentation featuring interviews with them. HARLEM LIBRARY CINEMA SERIES continues on Tuesday at 6:15 p.m. with “Beyond the Steps,” a 2006 documentary about the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, directed and produced by Phil Bertelsen; Mr. Bertelsen will be on hand to discuss the film.
