Lawyers Report on Lawsuits

Against Cathleen Black, David Steiner & Mayor Bloomberg

PRESS CONFERENCE

Friday, December 24, 2010 at 12 Noon

Tweed Bldg / Dept of Education, 52 Chambers St., Downtown NYC

Three lawsuits were filed and argued against Mayor Bloomberg's selection of Cathleen Black as NYC public schools Education Chancellor. The oral arguments were conducted in front of Judge Gerald W. Connelly in the NYS Supreme Court in Albany on Thursday, December 23.

Lawyers representing the petitioners will hold a press conference on Friday, December 24, 2010 at 12 noon in front of the Tweed Bldg / Department of Education, 52 Chambers St., Downtown NYC. Freedom Party legal team includes Roger Wareham, Esq., Ramon Jimenez, Esq., and Kalfahni Nkrumah, Esq.; independent parent Eric Snyder, Esq,; and ACLU team Norman Siegel., Esq., and Herbert Titelbaum, Esq.

Ignoring established laws of procedure, Mayor Bloomberg pushed his selection of Ms. Black, the unqualified, former publishing corporate exec, to lead the education of over one million NYC school children. NYS Education Commissioner David Steiner secured her position. All are listed as respondents in the civil case.
