On December 28, 2010, the jazz community lost another luminary, Dr. Billy Taylor.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Dr. Taylor's name to Jazzmobile—154 West 127th Street, New York, New York 10027 or online at www.jazzmobile.org. A memorial service will be held in New York City at Riverside Church this Monday, January 10.
WBGO will honor Dr. Taylor's memory beginning at 6 p.m. (Eastern Time) on Sunday with a weeklong celebration of his life and music. For broadcast details, see the left column of this email.
