Easter Parade

Easter Parade: Every year on Easter, the city bans cars from Fifth Avenue (between 49th and 57th Streets) for several hours, transforming the avenue into a colorful pedestrian oasis filled with costumed revelers of all ages. It's not a parade in the traditional sense, just an open space filled with festively dressed people strolling around and savoring the first precious hints of spring. And some people really represent, with elaborate bonnets and ensembles that are truly spectacular. Check out Katie Sokoler's stunning photos from last year for a taste of what to expect. And if you see the silver rabbit, give him a dollar for good luck!

Sunday // 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. // Fifth Avenue from 49th to 57th Streets // Free
